Plan the gap between two homes
Prepare a clear moving and storage sequence when departure and arrival dates differ, with separate inventories, essentials and return priorities.
Write down the access dates first
A gap between homes is a timing problem before it is a packing problem. Record the last day you can use the current property, the first confirmed access to the destination and any dates that are still uncertain. Keep a separate note of who can authorize changes.
Share that sequence when asking for an estimate. A move involving collection, storage and later delivery needs a different scope from a direct move. Availability and the return arrangements must be reviewed before a booking is assumed.
Separate the immediate household kit
Keep the things needed during the gap with the household: medication, important papers, clothing, chargers and the supplies that support daily routines. Do not put an item into storage simply because it is in the room being packed.
If some furniture goes directly to the destination while the rest is stored, label those loads distinctly. Give each carton a destination and a short contents description. A clear inventory helps the team understand the sequence and helps the household remember what is where.
Ask about access and return expectations
Storage arrangements vary, so discuss retrieval needs before agreeing the plan. Explain which belongings are likely to be needed first and whether the expected duration may change. Do not assume a stored item can be retrieved at any hour or without arranging a visit or delivery.
Keep the inventory up to date as choices change. Furniture intended for return together should remain a defined group. If the next address or move-in date is not confirmed, say so plainly rather than treating a provisional plan as a fixed appointment.
Prepare the receiving home in advance
When the destination becomes available, repeat the access review there. Confirm the loading approach, stairs and larger furniture routes, then choose the rooms to establish first. A simple room plan keeps the return load from becoming a new sorting project in the hallway.
If you want unpacking or removal of empty cartons, describe that as a separate part of the request. The most useful gap plan explains the dates, destinations, inventory and practical outcome at the end, with enough clarity for the team to review the work responsibly.
Turn the plan into your request
Review moving, packing and unpacking, or explore your nearby town guide. A request starts the review; scope, pricing and availability are confirmed before booking.
